Top Ten Dog Bike Trailers

The Best Pet Trailers Available

We’ve compiled a top ten of the best dog bike trailers around. Our list is based on a number of factors such as the number of sales, reviews (ours and others), price and practicality. We’ve included two-in-one dog trailer/strollers in our top ten also to provide the best possible range of brands and products.

Schwinn Rascal

1. Just missing out when we updated our top ten the last time, the Schwinn Rascal has patiently waited in the wings for our next chart. And it was worth the wait for the little rascal has jumped straight in to the top dog slot! This attractive little dog trailer can carry pets up to 50lbs and is built by a company with over 100 years of experience in bicycle related products. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive and the price tag looks great too! By far our best seller – a howling success!

Aosom Elite

It was difficult arriving at a consensus for the number one spot but the Aosom Elite just was just edged out. All of the conditions as laid out in our brief above were met – and in style! This small to medium-sized dog trailer has everything you need and at a price which is more than reasonable. It’s understandably popular and, for an appropriately-sized dog, we don’t think you’ll find much better without parting with much more cash. But you don’t have to take our word for it – visit the product page and read the many excellent reviews – they say it all!

Doggyhut Medium Trailer / Stroller

If you’re looking for a medium-sized two-in-one pet trailer/stroller then the Doggyhut, we feel is the best value for money product on the market at this time. It’s a solidly built product that’s nicely put together and presented. The 2-in-1 versatility it offers is fantastic and whilst it may not be as popular as some of the ‘trailer only’ options on this list, the reviews are fairly substantial and very positive indeed. As hinted at before, the price is far from exclusive and in a crowded market, full of 2-in-1 products, this one rises to the top for us.

Burley Tail Wagon

If this top ten just depended on what we thought was the absolute best dog bike trailer and nothing else then the Burley Tail Wagon would certainly be in the top two and possibly hold the number one slot. As it is, when all is taken into consideration, it’s just the price that prevents it getting higher than it already is. You do tend to get what you pay for, though, and Burley trailers certainly don’t disappoint. The number three position is a very healthy spot to occupy and if you have the funds available to spoil both yourself and your dog this is certainly one to consider.

DoggyRide Novel

As with the Burley Tail Wagon above, the DoggyRide Novel is just a little on the expensive side for us to place it any higher. There’s no doubt, however, that this dog bike trailer and its even more costly ‘10th Anniversary’ cousin (see our number ten spot) deserve to be in the top ten. Everything about these trailers ooze quality and the reviews speak for themselves. As with the Burley above, if the cost isn’t prohibitive, a DoggyRide Novel should be counted as a very possible option.

Solvit HoundAbout

Placed at just under the halfway point on our list of the top ten dog bike trailers is the sturdy HoundAbout. It’s not one of the cheaper products on this chart but what it lacks in affordability it makes up with choice – both in size and what material you’d like the frame made out of! Another good sign is its undeniable popularity despite not being the cheapest dog bicycle trailer. It’s worth pointing out that it’s not the most expensive either, and considering it’s built with medium to heavyweight hounds in mind we’ve no problem in including it!

Sepnin 2-in-1 Trailer / Strollers

For the seventh place, rather than picking a single product, we want to acknowledge a whole range by Sepnin (or Sepnine). The model shown here is typical of their combined trailer and stroller products: good reviews; low cost; good materials; choice of colors. If you don’t like this particular model be sure to visit the page and click on their name to see what else they have to offer. They are quite prolific and may well have something else that catches your eye.

DoggyRide Mini

One for the small guys and girls! The Mini, despite its diminutive size, doesn’t lack any of the qualities that its bigger brothers from DoggyRide possess. A neat-looking, well-made small dog trailer that has hit the right spot with many previous buyers and their reviews are a testament to this. It’s not one of the cheapest trailers for small dogs on the market but its popularity speaks volumes. And so if you have a pooch with good taste that’s in need of a good set of wheels you’d be hard-pushed to find a better vehicle for him or her!

PetEgo Comfort Wagon

Another nice dog trailer which stands out from the crowd thanks to a smart Italian design by Emanuele Bianchi. But, as you may have guessed, anything with a designer’s name attached to it tends to be on the pricier side and, unfortunately, the Comfort Wagon is no exception. Having said that, however, it does look smart and is very different to the average dog trailer. But it’s not all just about good looks – the product is built well from robust materials and offers very good suspension for smoother journeys. Great reviews as you might expect!

DoggyRide Novel 10th Anniversary

Possibly the best dog bike trailer that you can buy – but only just scraping into our top ten because of its big downside – the price! But we can understand why it’s one of the most expensive pet trailers out there: there’s quality everywhere you look in both the build and the materials used! On top of this there all the nice little extras and touches that most dog trailers simply don’t possess such as a roof rack, a memory foam mat and a kickstand. And so if your dog is only used to the finer things in life, it will certainly travel in style if you spoil it with a DoggyRide 10th Anniversary trailer!

InStep Sync

First thing – this is not a dedicated dog trailer – it’s for children. The reason we’ve suggested it is because of two main factors: popularity and price! The InStep Sync is enormously popular and is sold at an unbelievably low price. With possibly a few modifications, at very small extra expense, it could easily be adapted to suit a four-legged passenger.  See our child trailers for dogs page for more information on doing this. There are things to be considered before buying with a pet in mind, but with literally hundreds of great reviews (some from dog owners!) and typically costing under one hundred dollars, we had to include it on the page somewhere!

And so that’s our top ten! But, of course, there are many other trailers and 2-in-1s available on our main pages for you to view and quite possibly prefer. Whatever you decide, we truly hope you end up with the right trailer for you and your four-legged friend!
